Ingredients

  • Ground beef - 400 grams
  • Katsuobushi (dried bonito flakes) - 20 grams
  • Egg - 1 large
  • Garlic powder - 1 teaspoon
  • Onion powder - 1 teaspoon
  • Soy sauce - 1 tablespoon
  • Salt - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Black pepper - 1/4 teaspoon
  • Avocado oil - 2 tablespoons (for frying)
  • Shredded cabbage - 100 grams
  • Mayonnaise - 2 tablespoons
  • Rice vinegar - 1 teaspoon
  • Sesame oil - 1 teaspoon

Steps

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine ground beef, katsuobushi, egg, garlic powder, onion powder, soy sauce, salt, and black pepper. Mix well until all ingredients are fully incorporated.
  2. Divide the mixture into two equal portions and shape them into patties.
  3. Heat avocado oil in a skillet over medium heat. Add the burger patties and cook for about 5-6 minutes on each side, or until they reach your desired level of doneness.
  4. While the burgers are cooking, prepare the slaw by combining shredded cabbage, mayonnaise, rice vinegar, and sesame oil in a separate bowl. Toss to coat the cabbage evenly.
  5. Once the burgers are done, remove them from the skillet and allow them to rest for a couple of minutes.
  6. Serve the burgers topped with the cabbage slaw on the side.
