- Ground beef - 300 grams
- Soy sauce - 2 tablespoons
- Mirin (or sugar-free substitute) - 1 tablespoon
- Sake (or cooking wine) - 1 tablespoon
- Onion - 1 medium, thinly sliced
- Garlic - 1 clove, minced
- Ginger - 1 teaspoon, grated
- Salt - to taste
- Black pepper - to taste
- Lettuce leaves - 4 large (for wrapping)
- Green onions - 2 stalks, chopped (for garnish)
- Sesame oil - 1 teaspoon
- Keto-friendly mayonnaise - 2 tablespoons
- Sriracha or chili sauce - to taste (optional)
Steps
- In a large skillet, heat sesame oil over medium heat. Add sliced onions and sauté until translucent, about 5 minutes.
- Add minced garlic and grated ginger to the skillet. Sauté for an additional 1-2 minutes until fragrant.
- Increase the heat to medium-high and add ground beef to the skillet. Cook until browned, breaking it apart with a spatula, about 5-7 minutes.
- Stir in soy sauce, mirin, and sake. Cook for another 5 minutes until the mixture is well combined and heated through. Season with salt and black pepper to taste.
- While the beef mixture is cooking, prepare the lettuce wraps by washing and drying the lettuce leaves.
- To serve, place a generous amount of the beef mixture in the center of each lettuce leaf. Top with chopped green onions and a dollop of keto-friendly mayonnaise. Add sriracha or chili sauce if desired.
