- Goya (bitter melon) - 100g, thinly sliced
- Green onion - 2 stalks, finely chopped
- Garlic - 1 clove, minced
- Ginger - 1 teaspoon, grated
- Soy sauce (low sodium) - 1 tablespoon
- Egg - 1 large
- Almond flour - 2 tablespoons
- Salt - 1/2 teaspoon
- Black pepper - 1/4 teaspoon
- Lettuce leaves (Romaine or Butter) - 4 large
- Mayonnaise (sugar-free) - 2 tablespoons
- Sesame oil - 1 teaspoon
Steps
- In a mixing bowl, combine the ground meat, goya slices, green onion, garlic, ginger, soy sauce, egg, almond flour, salt, and black pepper. Mix until well combined.
- Form the mixture into two patties, ensuring they are of even thickness for even cooking.
- Heat sesame oil in a skillet over medium heat. Once hot, add the patties and cook for about 5-7 minutes on each side or until fully cooked through and browned.
- While the patties are cooking, prepare the lettuce leaves and set them aside.
- Once the patties are cooked, assemble the burgers by placing each patty on a lettuce leaf. Add a tablespoon of mayonnaise on top of each patty, and finish with another lettuce leaf to close the burger.
