Ingredients
- Chicken breast - 250 grams
- Panko breadcrumbs - 100 grams
- All-purpose flour - 50 grams
- Egg - 1 large
- Salt - 1/2 teaspoon
- Black pepper - 1/4 teaspoon
- Soy sauce - 1 tablespoon
- Mirin - 1 tablespoon
- Vegetable oil - 100 ml (for frying)
- Burger buns - 2
- Mayonnaise - 2 tablespoons
- Shredded cabbage - 50 grams
- Sliced cucumber - 50 grams
- Sliced tomato - 1 medium
- Sesame seeds - 1 teaspoon (optional)
Steps
- Begin by marinating the chicken breast in soy sauce and mirin for about 10 minutes.
- While the chicken is marinating, prepare three separate bowls: one with flour mixed with salt and pepper, one with the beaten egg, and one with panko breadcrumbs.
- Remove the chicken from the marinade and coat it first in the flour mixture, then dip it into the egg, and finally coat it thoroughly with the panko breadcrumbs.
- Heat the vegetable oil in a frying pan over medium heat. Once hot, carefully add the breaded chicken and fry for about 4-5 minutes on each side, or until golden brown and cooked through. Remove and drain on paper towels.
- Toast the burger buns lightly in the same pan or in a toaster.
- Spread mayonnaise on the bottom half of each bun, then layer with shredded cabbage, the fried chicken, sliced cucumber, and tomato.
- Sprinkle sesame seeds on top if desired, then place the top half of the bun on each burger and serve hot.
