  • Soy sauce - 2 tablespoons
  • Mirin - 1 tablespoon
  • Garlic - 2 cloves, minced
  • Ginger - 1 teaspoon, grated
  • Cornstarch - 1/2 cup
  • Vegetable oil - for frying
  • Pizza dough - 1 pre-made round (about 250 grams)
  • Mozzarella cheese - 150 grams, shredded
  • Miso paste - 2 tablespoons
  • Mayonnaise - 2 tablespoons
  • Green onions - 2 stalks, chopped
  • Bell pepper - 1/2, sliced
  • Spinach - 50 grams

Steps

  1. In a bowl, combine soy sauce, mirin, minced garlic, and grated ginger. Add chicken thighs and marinate for at least 15 minutes.

  3. Heat vegetable oil in a frying pan over medium heat. Fry the chicken until golden brown and crispy, about 4-5 minutes per side. Drain on paper towels.
  4. Preheat the oven to 220°C (428°F).
  5. Roll out the pizza dough on a floured surface to fit a pizza stone or baking sheet.
  6. In a small bowl, mix miso paste and mayonnaise to create a creamy sauce.
  7. Spread the miso sauce evenly over the rolled-out pizza dough.
  8. Sprinkle shredded mozzarella cheese over the sauce, followed by cooked karaage chicken, sliced bell pepper, and spinach.
  9. Bake in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes or until the cheese is bubbly and the crust is golden.
  10. Remove from the oven, top with chopped green onions, slice, and serve immediately.
