- Daikon radish - 100 grams, sliced
- Green onions - 2, chopped

- Sesame oil - 1 teaspoon
- Black pepper - to taste
Steps
- Cut the pork belly into 2-inch cubes and set aside.
- In a large pot, heat the sesame oil over medium heat. Add the garlic and ginger, sautéing until fragrant.
- Add the pork belly cubes to the pot and sear them on all sides until browned.
- Pour in the soy sauce, mirin, sake, and water, stirring to combine.
- Add the sliced daikon radish and bring the mixture to a boil.
- Reduce the heat to low, cover the pot, and let it simmer for about 60 minutes, until the pork is tender.
- After 60 minutes, remove the lid and increase the heat to medium-high, allowing the sauce to reduce for another 15-20 minutes until thickened.
- Serve the stew hot, garnished with chopped green onions and a sprinkle of black pepper.
