Ingredients

  • Pork belly - 500 grams
  • Coconut aminos - 100 ml
  • Bone broth - 250 ml
  • Ginger - 1 tablespoon, grated
  • Garlic - 2 cloves, minced
  • Green onions - 2, chopped
  • Sesame oil - 1 tablespoon
  • Radishes - 100 grams, sliced
  • Hard-boiled eggs - 2, halved
  • Salt - to taste
  • Black pepper - to taste

Steps

  1. Cut the pork belly into 5 cm cubes and season with salt and black pepper.
  2. In a large pot, heat the sesame oil over medium heat and sear the pork belly on all sides until browned.
  3. Add the minced garlic and grated ginger to the pot and sauté for 1-2 minutes until fragrant.
  4. Pour in the coconut aminos and bone broth, bringing the mixture to a simmer.
  5. Cover the pot and reduce the heat to low, allowing it to braise for 2-3 hours or until the pork is tender.
  6. Once cooked, remove the pork from the pot and let it rest for a few minutes before slicing.
  7. Serve the kakuni pork with sliced radishes, halved hard-boiled eggs, and garnish with chopped green onions.
