Ingredients

  • Fresh oysters - 12 pieces
  • Soy sauce - 60 ml
  • Mirin - 30 ml
  • Sake - 30 ml
  • Sugar - 1 tablespoon
  • Garlic - 2 cloves, minced
  • Ginger - 1 teaspoon, grated
  • Spring onions - 2, finely chopped
  • Sesame oil - 1 teaspoon
  • Lemon - 1, cut into wedges
  • Fresh coriander - for garnish

Steps

  1. Preheat a grill or grill pan over medium heat.
  2. In a bowl, mix soy sauce, mirin, sake, sugar, minced garlic, grated ginger, and sesame oil to create the marinade.
  3. Rinse the oysters under cold water and carefully open them, discarding any broken shells.
  4. Place the oysters on the grill, flat side up, and brush them generously with the marinade.
  5. Grill the oysters for about 5-7 minutes until they are heated through and slightly caramelized.
