Ingredients

  • Fresh oysters - 12 pieces
  • Sake - 100 ml
  • Garlic - 2 cloves, minced
  • Fresh ginger - 1 teaspoon, grated
  • Green onion - 2 stalks, finely chopped
  • Fresh cilantro - 2 tablespoons, chopped
  • Lemon - 1, juiced
  • Sea salt - to taste
  • Black pepper - to taste

Steps

  1. Rinse the fresh oysters under cold water to remove any sand or debris.
  2. In a steaming pot or bamboo steamer, add the sake, minced garlic, grated ginger, and a pinch of sea salt.
  3. Place the oysters in the steamer basket and drizzle with lemon juice, then sprinkle with black pepper.
  4. Cover the pot and steam the oysters over medium heat for about 10-12 minutes, or until they open up.
  5. Once cooked, remove the oysters from the steamer and transfer them to a serving dish.
  6. Garnish with chopped green onion and cilantro before serving.
