Ingredients

  • Ripe persimmons - 2 medium
  • White miso paste - 2 tablespoons
  • Mirin - 1 tablespoon
  • Soy sauce - 1 tablespoon
  • Sesame oil - 1 teaspoon
  • Toasted sesame seeds - 1 tablespoon
  • Chopped green onions - 1 tablespoon
  • Salt - to taste
  • Black pepper - to taste

Steps

  1. Preheat the oven to 200°C (400°F).
  2. Slice the ripe persimmons in half and scoop out a small amount of the flesh to create a slight cavity for the glaze.
  3. In a small bowl, mix the white miso paste, mirin, soy sauce, sesame oil, salt, and black pepper until smooth.
  4. Spread the miso glaze evenly on the cut sides of the persimmons.
  5. Place the glazed persimmons on a baking sheet, cut side up, and sprinkle the toasted sesame seeds on top.
  6. Bake in the preheated oven for about 15-20 minutes, or until the persimmons are tender and the glaze is slightly caramelized.
