Ingredients

  • Sushi rice - 150 grams
  • Water - 200 milliliters
  • Rice vinegar - 30 milliliters
  • Sugar - 10 grams
  • Salt - 5 grams
  • Halal salmon sashimi - 100 grams
  • Halal tuna sashimi - 100 grams
  • Halal shrimp (peeled and cooked) - 100 grams
  • Cucumber (sliced) - 50 grams
  • Radish (thinly sliced) - 30 grams
  • Nori (seaweed, cut into strips) - 2 sheets
  • Sesame seeds - 10 grams
  • Soy sauce - 30 milliliters
  • Sesame oil - 10 milliliters
  • Green onions (chopped) - 10 grams

Steps

  1. Rinse the sushi rice under cold water until the water runs clear, then soak it for 30 minutes.
  2. In a pot, combine the soaked rice with 200 milliliters of water and bring to a boil. Once boiling, reduce to low heat, cover, and simmer for 15 minutes until the water is absorbed.
  3. Remove the pot from heat and let it sit covered for 10 minutes. In a small bowl, mix rice vinegar, sugar, and salt until dissolved, then gently fold this mixture into the cooked rice.
  4. While the rice cools, prepare the seafood by slicing the halal salmon and tuna into thin sashimi pieces.
  5. To assemble the kaisendon, divide the seasoned sushi rice into two bowls.
  6. Layer the sashimi, cooked shrimp, cucumber slices, and radish on top of the rice in each bowl.
  7. Sprinkle sesame seeds and chopped green onions over the seafood.
  8. In a small bowl, whisk together soy sauce and sesame oil, then drizzle over the assembled bowls.
  9. Serve immediately and enjoy your fresh kaisendon.
