- Sushi rice - 150 grams
- Water - 200 ml
- Rice vinegar - 30 ml
- Sugar - 10 grams
- Salt - 5 grams
- Fresh salmon fillet - 100 grams
- Fresh tuna fillet - 100 grams
- Cooked shrimp - 100 grams
- Cucumber - 1 small, thinly sliced
- Radish - 1 small, thinly sliced
- Nori sheets - 2, cut into strips
- Sesame seeds - 1 tablespoon
- Soy sauce - 30 ml (kosher)
- Wasabi - to taste
- Pickled ginger - for garnish
Steps
- Rinse the sushi rice under cold water until the water runs clear, then soak for 30 minutes.
- In a pot, combine the soaked rice and water and bring to a boil. Once boiling, reduce heat to low, cover, and simmer for 18 minutes. Remove from heat and let it sit, covered, for an additional 10 minutes.
- In a small bowl, mix rice vinegar, sugar, and salt until dissolved. Gently fold this mixture into the cooked rice and let it cool to room temperature.
- While the rice cools, slice the fresh salmon and tuna fillets into bite-sized pieces.
- Arrange the cooled sushi rice in two bowls as the base.
- Top each bowl of rice with the sliced salmon, tuna, cooked shrimp, cucumber, and radish slices.
- Sprinkle sesame seeds and nori strips on top of the seafood.
- Serve with soy sauce, wasabi, and pickled ginger on the side.
