Steps
- Begin by cleaning the squid thoroughly, removing the head, innards, and skin. Rinse under cold water and pat dry with paper towels.
- Heat 1 tablespoon of olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat until hot.
- Slice the squid bodies into 1 cm thick rings and add them to the skillet. Sear for about 1-2 minutes on each side until lightly browned but still tender.
- Remove the squid from the skillet and let it cool slightly before slicing into bite-sized pieces.
- In a bowl, whisk together the lime juice, coconut aminos, minced garlic, grated ginger, and remaining olive oil. Season with sea salt and black pepper to taste.
- Add the sliced squid to the marinade and toss gently to coat. Let it marinate for about 5-10 minutes.
- Serve the marinated squid on a plate, garnished with sesame seeds and chopped cilantro.
