Ingredients

  • Fresh squid - 300 grams
  • Olive oil - 2 tablespoons
  • Fresh lime juice - 2 tablespoons
  • Coconut aminos - 1 tablespoon
  • Garlic - 1 clove, minced
  • Fresh ginger - 1 teaspoon, grated
  • Sesame seeds - 1 tablespoon
  • Fresh cilantro - 2 tablespoons, chopped
  • Sea salt - to taste
  • Black pepper - to taste

Steps

  1. Begin by cleaning the squid thoroughly, removing the head, innards, and skin. Rinse under cold water and pat dry with paper towels.
  2. Heat 1 tablespoon of olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat until hot.
  3. Slice the squid bodies into 1 cm thick rings and add them to the skillet. Sear for about 1-2 minutes on each side until lightly browned but still tender.
  4. Remove the squid from the skillet and let it cool slightly before slicing into bite-sized pieces.
  5. In a bowl, whisk together the lime juice, coconut aminos, minced garlic, grated ginger, and remaining olive oil. Season with sea salt and black pepper to taste.
  6. Add the sliced squid to the marinade and toss gently to coat. Let it marinate for about 5-10 minutes.
  7. Serve the marinated squid on a plate, garnished with sesame seeds and chopped cilantro.
