Ingredients

  • Squid (cleaned and whole) - 300 grams
  • Soy sauce - 3 tablespoons
  • Mirin - 2 tablespoons
  • Sake - 1 tablespoon
  • Garlic (minced) - 1 clove
  • Ginger (grated) - 1 teaspoon
  • Sesame oil - 1 teaspoon
  • Green onions (chopped) - for garnish
  • Lemon wedges - for serving

Steps

  1. In a bowl, mix together the soy sauce, mirin, sake, minced garlic, grated ginger, and sesame oil to create the marinade.
  2. Add the cleaned squid to the marinade, ensuring it is fully coated. Allow it to marinate for at least 15 minutes.
  3. Preheat a grill or grill pan over medium-high heat.
  4. Remove the squid from the marinade and place it on the grill. Cook for about 3-4 minutes on each side, or until the squid is opaque and slightly charred.
  5. Once cooked, remove the squid from the grill and let it rest for a minute before slicing into rings.
  6. Serve the grilled squid garnished with chopped green onions and lemon wedges on the side.
