Ingredients

  • squid - 300 grams, cleaned and sliced into rings
  • coconut aminos - 4 tablespoons
  • water - 150 milliliters
  • ginger - 1 tablespoon, grated
  • garlic - 1 clove, minced
  • daikon radish - 100 grams, sliced thinly
  • green onions - 2 stalks, chopped
  • sesame oil - 1 teaspoon
  • black sesame seeds - 1 teaspoon, for garnish

Steps

  1. In a medium pot, heat the sesame oil over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and grated ginger, sautéing until fragrant, about 1 minute.
  2. Add the sliced daikon radish to the pot and stir for 2-3 minutes until they start to soften.
  3. Pour in the coconut aminos and water, bringing the mixture to a gentle simmer.
  4. Add the squid rings into the pot, ensuring they are submerged in the sauce. Simmer for about 10-12 minutes until the squid is cooked through and tender.
  5. Once cooked, remove from heat and stir in the chopped green onions.
  6. Serve hot, garnished with black sesame seeds.
