Ingredients

  • Pork intestines (hormone) - 300 grams
  • Soy sauce - 30 ml
  • Sake - 30 ml
  • Mirin - 15 ml
  • Garlic (minced) - 2 cloves
  • Ginger (grated) - 1 teaspoon
  • Green onions (sliced) - 2 stalks
  • Sesame oil - 1 tablespoon
  • Salt - to taste
  • Black pepper - to taste
  • Shichimi togarashi (Japanese seven spice) - 1 teaspoon

Steps

  1. Clean the pork intestines thoroughly under running water, removing any impurities and excess fat.
  2. In a bowl, combine soy sauce, sake, mirin, minced garlic, grated ginger, sesame oil, salt, and black pepper to create a marinade.
  3. Cut the cleaned intestines into bite-sized pieces and add them to the marinade. Mix well and let marinate for at least 15 minutes.
  4. Preheat a grill or BBQ to medium-high heat.
  5. Skewer the marinated intestines onto skewers, alternating with sliced green onions.
  6. Grill the skewers for about 10-12 minutes, turning occasionally until they are cooked through and slightly charred.
  7. Sprinkle with shichimi togarashi before serving for an extra kick.
  8. Serve hot with extra green onions on the side.
