Ingredients

  • Ground beef (80% lean) - 300 grams
  • Soy sauce - 30 ml
  • Mirin - 15 ml
  • Sake - 15 ml
  • Sugar - 10 grams
  • Garlic - 1 clove, minced
  • Ginger - 1 teaspoon, grated
  • Burger buns - 2 pieces
  • Green onions - 2, chopped
  • Cabbage - 50 grams, shredded
  • Wasabi - 1 teaspoon
  • Mayonnaise - 2 tablespoons
  • Cooking oil - 1 tablespoon

Steps

  1. In a bowl, mix soy sauce, mirin, sake, sugar, minced garlic, and grated ginger to create the marinade.
  2. Add the ground beef to the marinade, mixing well to incorporate all flavors. Let it marinate for at least 10 minutes.
  3. In a skillet, heat cooking oil over medium-high heat. Form the marinated beef into two patties and cook for about 4-5 minutes on each side, or until cooked to your desired doneness.
  4. While the patties are cooking, prepare the wasabi mayo by mixing the mayonnaise and wasabi in a small bowl.
  5. Toast the burger buns lightly in the same skillet for about 1-2 minutes until golden.
  6. Assemble the burgers by placing a beef patty on each bun, topping with shredded cabbage and chopped green onions, and finish with a drizzle of wasabi mayo.
  7. Serve immediately with your choice of sides.
