- Beef sirloin - 200 grams, thinly sliced
- Onion - 1 medium, thinly sliced
- Soy sauce - 3 tablespoons
- Mirin - 2 tablespoons
- Sugar - 1 tablespoon
- Dashi stock - 200 ml
- Cooked white rice - 2 cups
- Eggs - 2 large
- Green onions - 2 tablespoons, chopped
- Sesame seeds - 1 teaspoon, for garnish
Steps
- In a medium saucepan, combine soy sauce, mirin, sugar, and dashi stock. Bring to a simmer over medium heat.
- Add the sliced onion and cook for about 5 minutes until softened.
- Add the thinly sliced beef to the saucepan and simmer for another 5-7 minutes until the beef is cooked through.
- While the beef is cooking, prepare the eggs by beating them in a bowl.
- In a separate non-stick skillet, heat a small amount of oil over medium heat and pour in the beaten eggs. Cook gently, stirring, until the eggs are softly scrambled.
- To serve, place 1 cup of cooked rice in each bowl. Spoon the beef and onion mixture over the rice, and top with the scrambled eggs.
- Garnish with chopped green onions and sesame seeds before serving.
