  • Mirin (or sugar-free alternative) - 15 ml
  • Sake (or cooking wine) - 15 ml
  • Garlic (minced) - 1 clove
  • Ginger (grated) - 1 teaspoon
  • Green onions (sliced) - 2 tablespoons
  • Keto burger buns (store-bought or homemade) - 2 buns
  • Butter - 1 tablespoon
  • Lettuce leaves - 2 leaves
  • Mayonnaise (sugar-free) - 2 tablespoons
  • Sesame seeds - 1 teaspoon

Steps

  1. In a bowl, mix the ground beef with soy sauce, mirin, sake, minced garlic, and grated ginger until well combined.
  2. Shape the mixture into two burger patties and refrigerate for 10 minutes to firm up.
  3. Heat a skillet over medium-high heat and add the butter.
  4. Once melted, cook the patties for about 4-5 minutes on each side or until they reach your desired doneness.
  5. While the burgers are cooking, prepare the keto buns by toasting them lightly in the same skillet for about 1-2 minutes.
  6. Assemble the burgers by placing a lettuce leaf on the bottom bun, followed by the cooked patty, a tablespoon of mayonnaise, sliced green onions, and a sprinkle of sesame seeds.
  7. Top with the other half of the bun and serve immediately.
