Ingredients

  • Beef sirloin, thinly sliced - 300 grams
  • Onion, thinly sliced - 1 medium
  • Cooked rice - 2 cups
  • Soy sauce (halal) - 4 tablespoons
  • Mirin (halal) - 2 tablespoons
  • Sake (halal) - 2 tablespoons
  • Sugar - 1 tablespoon
  • Vegetable oil - 2 tablespoons
  • Green onions, chopped - 2 tablespoons
  • Sesame seeds - 1 tablespoon

Steps

  1. In a bowl, combine soy sauce, mirin, sake, and sugar to create the marinade.
  2. Add the thinly sliced beef to the marinade and let it sit for 15 minutes.
  3. In a skillet, heat vegetable oil over medium heat and sauté the sliced onion until translucent, about 5 minutes.
  4. Add the marinated beef (including marinade) to the skillet and cook until the beef is browned and cooked through, about 5-7 minutes.
  5. Serve the cooked beef and onion mixture over bowls of warm cooked rice.
