Ingredients
- Gyoza wrappers - 12 pieces
- Ground chicken (kosher) - 200 grams
- Green onions - 2, finely chopped
- Cabbage - 100 grams, finely shredded
- Garlic - 1 clove, minced
- Ginger - 1 teaspoon, minced
- Soy sauce (kosher) - 2 tablespoons
- Sesame oil - 1 teaspoon
- Salt - 1/2 teaspoon
- Pepper - 1/4 teaspoon
- Vegetable oil - 1 tablespoon (for frying)
- Water - 1/4 cup (for steaming)
Steps
- In a mixing bowl, combine the ground chicken, green onions, cabbage, garlic, ginger, soy sauce, sesame oil, salt, and pepper. Mix until well combined.
- Place a gyoza wrapper in your palm and add about 1 tablespoon of filling in the center.
- Moisten the edges of the wrapper with a little water, fold it in half, and pinch the edges to seal tightly. Create pleats along the edge for a decorative finish.
- Repeat the process until all the filling is used up.
- Heat the vegetable oil in a non-stick skillet over medium heat. Arrange the gyoza in a single layer and fry for about 2-3 minutes, or until the bottoms are golden brown.
- Carefully add the water to the skillet and cover immediately. Steam the gyoza for about 5-7 minutes, or until the water has evaporated and the gyoza are cooked through.
- Remove the lid, let the gyoza cook for an additional minute to crisp the bottoms, then transfer to a serving plate.
- Serve warm with a dipping sauce made from soy sauce, rice vinegar, and a sprinkle of sesame seeds.
