Ingredients
- Salmon fillets - 2 pieces (150g each)
- Soy sauce - 3 tablespoons
- Mirin - 2 tablespoons
- Brown sugar - 1 tablespoon
- Sesame oil - 1 teaspoon
- Garlic - 1 clove, minced
- Ginger - 1 teaspoon, grated
- Green onions - 2 stalks, chopped
- Sesame seeds - 1 tablespoon, toasted
- Vegetable oil - 1 tablespoon (for grilling)
Steps
- In a bowl, whisk together soy sauce, mirin, brown sugar, sesame oil, minced garlic, and grated ginger to create the teriyaki marinade.
- Place the salmon fillets in a shallow dish and pour the marinade over them, ensuring they are well coated. Cover and refrigerate for at least 15 minutes.
- Preheat a grill or grill pan over medium-high heat and brush it lightly with vegetable oil.
- Remove the salmon from the marinade, allowing excess marinade to drip off, and grill the fillets for about 4-5 minutes on each side or until the fish flakes easily with a fork.
- While grilling, you can brush the salmon with additional marinade for extra flavor, but be cautious not to cross-contaminate.
- Once cooked, remove the salmon from the grill and let it rest for a couple of minutes.
- Serve the grilled salmon garnished with chopped green onions and toasted sesame seeds.
