Ingredients

  • Salmon fillets - 2 x 150g
  • White miso paste - 3 tablespoons (45g)
  • Mirin (sweet rice wine) - 2 tablespoons (30ml)
  • Soy sauce - 1 tablespoon (15ml)
  • Sesame oil - 1 tablespoon (15ml)
  • Honey - 1 tablespoon (15g)
  • Garlic (minced) - 1 clove
  • Ginger (grated) - 1 teaspoon
  • Green onions (sliced) - for garnish
  • Sesame seeds - for garnish

Steps

  1. In a bowl, whisk together the miso paste, mirin, soy sauce, sesame oil, honey, minced garlic, and grated ginger until smooth.
  2. Place the salmon fillets in a shallow dish and pour the marinade over them, ensuring they are well-coated. Cover and refrigerate for 15-20 minutes.
  3. Preheat the grill to medium-high heat.
  4. Remove the salmon from the marinade, allowing excess marinade to drip off. Discard the remaining marinade.
  5. Place the salmon fillets skin-side down on the grill and cook for 4-5 minutes.
  6. Carefully flip the salmon and grill for an additional 3-4 minutes, or until the salmon is cooked through and flakes easily with a fork.
  7. Transfer the grilled salmon to a plate and garnish with sliced green onions and sesame seeds before serving.
