Ingredients
- Spinach - 200 grams
- Sesame seeds - 30 grams
- Soy sauce - 1 tablespoon (15 ml)
- Mirin - 1 tablespoon (15 ml)
- Sugar - 1 teaspoon (5 grams)
- Tofu (firm) - 100 grams
- Sesame oil - 1 teaspoon (5 ml)
- Water - 1 liter
Steps
- Bring 1 liter of water to a boil in a pot.
- Add the spinach to the boiling water and blanch for 1-2 minutes until wilted.
- Drain the spinach and immediately transfer it to a bowl of cold water to stop the cooking process.
- In a dry pan, toast the sesame seeds over medium heat for 2-3 minutes until fragrant, then let them cool.
- In a mixing bowl, combine the toasted sesame seeds, soy sauce, mirin, sugar, and sesame oil. Mix until well combined.
- Squeeze excess water from the spinach and chop it into bite-sized pieces.
- Add the chopped spinach to the sesame dressing and toss until evenly coated.
- Cut the tofu into small cubes and gently fold into the salad.
- Serve immediately or chill in the refrigerator for 10 minutes before serving.
