Ingredients

  • Firm tofu - 300 grams
  • Nori seaweed sheets - 2 sheets
  • Cornstarch - 50 grams
  • Soy sauce - 2 tablespoons
  • Sesame oil - 1 tablespoon
  • Vegetable oil - for frying
  • Green onions - 2 stalks, chopped
  • Salt - to taste
  • Black pepper - to taste

Steps

  1. Drain the firm tofu and wrap it in a clean kitchen towel. Place a weight on top to press out excess moisture for about 15 minutes.
  2. Cut the pressed tofu into bite-sized cubes, approximately 2.5 cm each.
  3. In a bowl, mix the cornstarch with a pinch of salt and black pepper. Dredge each tofu cube in the cornstarch mixture until evenly coated.
  4. Heat vegetable oil in a frying pan over medium-high heat. Once hot, carefully add the tofu cubes and fry until golden brown on all sides, about 3-4 minutes per side.
  5. While the tofu is frying, cut the nori seaweed sheets into thin strips.
  6. Once the tofu is fried, remove it from the pan and drain on paper towels to remove excess oil.
  7. In a small bowl, mix soy sauce with sesame oil and drizzle over the fried tofu. Top with chopped green onions and nori strips before serving.
