- Firm tofu - 300 grams
- Nori seaweed sheets - 2 sheets
- Cornstarch - 50 grams
- Soy sauce - 2 tablespoons
- Sesame oil - 1 tablespoon
- Vegetable oil - for frying
- Green onions - 2 stalks, chopped
- Salt - to taste
- Black pepper - to taste
Steps
- Drain the firm tofu and wrap it in a clean kitchen towel. Place a weight on top to press out excess moisture for about 15 minutes.
- Cut the pressed tofu into bite-sized cubes, approximately 2.5 cm each.
- In a bowl, mix the cornstarch with a pinch of salt and black pepper. Dredge each tofu cube in the cornstarch mixture until evenly coated.
- Heat vegetable oil in a frying pan over medium-high heat. Once hot, carefully add the tofu cubes and fry until golden brown on all sides, about 3-4 minutes per side.
- While the tofu is frying, cut the nori seaweed sheets into thin strips.
- Once the tofu is fried, remove it from the pan and drain on paper towels to remove excess oil.
- In a small bowl, mix soy sauce with sesame oil and drizzle over the fried tofu. Top with chopped green onions and nori strips before serving.
