Ingredients
- Shrimp - 250 grams, peeled and deveined
- Panko breadcrumbs - 50 grams
- Green onion - 2 tablespoons, finely chopped
- Garlic - 1 clove, minced
- Ginger - 1 teaspoon, grated
- Soy sauce - 1 tablespoon
- Sesame oil - 1 teaspoon
- Salt - 1/4 teaspoon
- Black pepper - 1/4 teaspoon
- Egg - 1, beaten
- Burger buns - 2
- Wasabi paste - 1 teaspoon
- Mayonnaise - 2 tablespoons
- Lettuce leaves - 2
- Tomato - 1, sliced
- Cucumber - 1/2, sliced
Steps
- In a food processor, blend the shrimp until coarsely chopped.
- In a mixing bowl, combine the chopped shrimp, panko breadcrumbs, green onion, garlic, ginger, soy sauce, sesame oil, salt, pepper, and beaten egg. Mix until well combined.
- Form the mixture into two patties.
- Heat a non-stick skillet over medium heat and add a drizzle of oil. Cook the patties for about 3-4 minutes on each side, or until golden brown and cooked through.
- While the patties are cooking, mix the wasabi paste with mayonnaise in a small bowl to create the wasabi mayo.
- Toast the burger buns lightly on a separate skillet or in a toaster.
- Assemble the burgers by spreading wasabi mayo on the bottom half of each bun, adding a lettuce leaf, the shrimp patty, tomato slices, and cucumber slices, then topping with the other half of the bun.
- Serve immediately with your choice of side.
