Ingredients

  • Shrimp - 250 grams, peeled and deveined
  • Panko breadcrumbs - 50 grams
  • Green onion - 2 tablespoons, finely chopped
  • Garlic - 1 clove, minced
  • Ginger - 1 teaspoon, grated
  • Soy sauce - 1 tablespoon
  • Sesame oil - 1 teaspoon
  • Salt - 1/4 teaspoon
  • Black pepper - 1/4 teaspoon
  • Egg - 1, beaten
  • Burger buns - 2
  • Wasabi paste - 1 teaspoon
  • Mayonnaise - 2 tablespoons
  • Lettuce leaves - 2
  • Tomato - 1, sliced
  • Cucumber - 1/2, sliced

Steps

  1. In a food processor, blend the shrimp until coarsely chopped.
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine the chopped shrimp, panko breadcrumbs, green onion, garlic, ginger, soy sauce, sesame oil, salt, pepper, and beaten egg. Mix until well combined.
  3. Form the mixture into two patties.
  4. Heat a non-stick skillet over medium heat and add a drizzle of oil. Cook the patties for about 3-4 minutes on each side, or until golden brown and cooked through.
  5. While the patties are cooking, mix the wasabi paste with mayonnaise in a small bowl to create the wasabi mayo.
  6. Toast the burger buns lightly on a separate skillet or in a toaster.
  7. Assemble the burgers by spreading wasabi mayo on the bottom half of each bun, adding a lettuce leaf, the shrimp patty, tomato slices, and cucumber slices, then topping with the other half of the bun.
  8. Serve immediately with your choice of side.
