- Wakame seaweed - 30 grams (dried)
- Cucumber - 1 medium (sliced thinly)
- Carrot - 1 medium (julienned)
- Sesame oil - 1 tablespoon
- Soy sauce (halal) - 1 tablespoon
- Rice vinegar - 1 tablespoon
- Sugar - 1 teaspoon
- Sesame seeds - 1 tablespoon (toasted)
- Green onions - 2 (finely chopped)
- Chili flakes - 1/2 teaspoon (optional)
Steps
- Soak the dried wakame seaweed in warm water for about 10 minutes or until it rehydrates and expands.
- Drain the wakame and gently squeeze out excess water, then chop into bite-sized pieces.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the sesame oil, soy sauce, rice vinegar, and sugar, mixing well to create the dressing.
- Add the rehydrated wakame, sliced cucumber, and julienned carrot to the bowl, and toss everything together until evenly coated in the dressing.
- Sprinkle the toasted sesame seeds and chopped green onions over the salad, and toss lightly again.
- If desired, add chili flakes for a bit of heat, then serve chilled or at room temperature.
