Ingredients
- Cabbage leaves - 8 large
- Ground pork - 200 grams
- Shirataki noodles - 100 grams, rinsed and drained
- Green onion - 2 stalks, finely chopped
- Garlic - 1 clove, minced
- Ginger - 1 teaspoon, grated
- Soy sauce (low sodium) - 1 tablespoon
- Sesame oil - 1 teaspoon
- Salt - 1/2 teaspoon
- Pepper - 1/4 teaspoon
- Olive oil - 1 tablespoon for frying
- Lettuce leaves - for serving
Steps
- Bring a large pot of water to a boil and blanch the cabbage leaves for 2-3 minutes until softened. Remove and set aside to cool.
- In a mixing bowl, combine ground pork, rinsed shirataki noodles (chopped into small pieces), green onion, garlic, ginger, soy sauce, sesame oil, salt, and pepper. Mix until well combined.
- Lay a blanched cabbage leaf flat and place about 2 tablespoons of the meat mixture at the base of the leaf. Roll tightly, tucking in the sides as you go, and secure with a toothpick if necessary. Repeat with remaining leaves and filling.
- Heat olive oil in a pan over medium heat. Place the cabbage rolls seam-side down in the pan and cook for about 5 minutes until browned.
- Carefully flip the rolls and add 1/4 cup of water to the pan. Cover and steam for 10-15 minutes until the meat is cooked through.
- Remove from heat and let cool slightly before serving on a bed of lettuce leaves.
