Ingredients

  • Pork belly or pork loin - 300 grams
  • Cooked white rice - 300 grams
  • Soy sauce - 2 tablespoons
  • Mirin - 1 tablespoon
  • Sake - 1 tablespoon
  • Sugar - 1 teaspoon
  • Sesame oil - 1 teaspoon
  • Green onions - 2 stalks, chopped
  • Sesame seeds - 1 tablespoon
  • Salt - to taste
  • Pepper - to taste

Steps

  1. Slice the pork into thin strips, about 1 cm wide.
  2. In a bowl, mix soy sauce, mirin, sake, sugar, sesame oil, salt, and pepper to create the marinade.
  3. Add the pork strips to the marinade and let it sit for at least 15 minutes.
  4. While the pork is marinating, prepare the cooked white rice and keep it warm.
  5. Heat a non-stick skillet over medium-high heat and add the marinated pork, discarding the excess marinade.
  6. Stir-fry the pork for about 5-7 minutes or until cooked through and slightly caramelized.
  7. To serve, place a generous portion of rice in each bowl, top with the stir-fried pork, and garnish with chopped green onions and sesame seeds.
