Ingredients

  • Firm tofu - 300 grams
  • Panko breadcrumbs - 50 grams
  • Green onion - 2 stalks, finely chopped
  • Garlic - 2 cloves, minced
  • Ginger - 1 teaspoon, grated
  • Soy sauce - 2 tablespoons
  • Sesame oil - 1 tablespoon
  • Cornstarch - 1 tablespoon
  • Salt - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Black pepper - 1/4 teaspoon
  • Vegetable oil - for greasing

Steps

  1. Preheat your oven to 180°C (350°F) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Drain the tofu and press it to remove excess moisture, then crumble it into a large mixing bowl.
  3. Add the panko breadcrumbs, chopped green onion, minced garlic, grated ginger, soy sauce, sesame oil, cornstarch, salt, and black pepper to the crumbled tofu. Mix until well combined.
  4. Shape the mixture into two burger patties and place them on the prepared baking sheet.
  5. Lightly brush the tops of the patties with vegetable oil to help them crisp up during baking.
  6. Bake the patties for 25-30 minutes, flipping halfway through, until golden brown and firm.
  7. Remove from the oven and let them cool for a few minutes before serving.
