Ingredients

  • Firm tofu - 300 grams
  • Soy sauce - 2 tablespoons
  • Mirin - 1 tablespoon
  • Sesame oil - 1 tablespoon
  • Garlic - 2 cloves, minced
  • Ginger - 1 teaspoon, grated
  • Green onions - 2 tablespoons, chopped
  • Sesame seeds - 1 tablespoon
  • Black pepper - 1/4 teaspoon
  • Red chili flakes - 1/4 teaspoon (optional)

Steps

  1. Preheat the oven to 200°C (400°F).
  2. Press the tofu for 15 minutes to remove excess moisture, then cut it into 1.5 cm cubes.
  3. In a bowl, mix together the soy sauce, mirin, sesame oil, minced garlic, grated ginger, black pepper, and red chili flakes.
  4. Add the tofu cubes to the marinade and toss gently to ensure they are well coated. Let it marinate for at least 10 minutes.
  5. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and spread the marinated tofu cubes evenly on the sheet.
  6. Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, flipping halfway through, until the tofu is golden brown and slightly crispy.
  7. Remove from the oven, sprinkle with chopped green onions and sesame seeds before serving.
