Ingredients

  • Glutinous rice flour - 100 grams
  • Water - 80 ml
  • Soy sauce - 1 tablespoon
  • Nori (seaweed) - 1 sheet, crumbled
  • Sugar - 1 teaspoon
  • Salt - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Sesame seeds - 1 tablespoon
  • Vegetable oil (for frying) - 200 ml

Steps

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine glutinous rice flour, water, soy sauce, sugar, salt, and crumbled nori to form a smooth dough.
  2. Knead the dough gently for about 2 minutes until it becomes slightly firm.
  3. Roll the dough into small balls, approximately 1 cm in diameter, and flatten them slightly to form discs.
  4. Heat vegetable oil in a frying pan over medium heat. Once hot, carefully add the discs of dough, frying them in batches.
  5. Fry each side for about 2-3 minutes or until golden brown and crispy, then remove and place them on paper towels to drain excess oil.
  6. While still warm, sprinkle sesame seeds over the fried crackers for added flavor.
  7. Let the Arare cool completely before serving, allowing them to crisp up further.
