- Unsalted butter - 75g
- Granulated sugar - 100g
- Large eggs - 2
- Almond flour - 100g
- Vanilla extract - 1 teaspoon
- Powdered sugar (for dusting) - to taste
Steps
- Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F) and grease a 20 cm (8 inch) round cake pan.
- In a heatproof bowl, melt the dark chocolate and butter together over a pot of simmering water, stirring until smooth.
- Remove the bowl from heat and let it cool slightly.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together the granulated sugar and eggs until light and fluffy.
- Add the melted chocolate mixture and vanilla extract to the egg mixture, and mix until well combined.
- Gradually fold in the almond flour until the batter is smooth and homogenous.
- Pour the batter into the prepared cake pan and smooth the top.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out with a few moist crumbs.
- Allow the cake to cool in the pan for 10 minutes before transferring it to a wire rack to cool completely.
- Dust with powdered sugar before serving.
