Ingredients

  • Mascarpone cheese - 250 grams
  • Heavy cream - 100 ml
  • Powdered sugar - 50 grams
  • Strong brewed coffee - 100 ml (cooled)
  • Ladyfingers - 12 pieces
  • Cocoa powder - for dusting
  • Vanilla extract - 1 teaspoon
  • Halal gelatine - 1 teaspoon (optional for stability)

Steps

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine the mascarpone cheese, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract. Whisk until smooth and creamy.
  2. In a separate bowl, whip the heavy cream until soft peaks form.
  3. Gently fold the whipped cream into the mascarpone mixture until well combined. If using gelatine, dissolve it in a tablespoon of water and fold it in as well.
  4. Dip each ladyfinger briefly into the cooled coffee, ensuring they are soaked but not soggy.
  5. In serving glasses or a small dish, arrange a layer of soaked ladyfingers at the bottom.
  6. Add a layer of the mascarpone mixture over the ladyfingers, smoothing it out evenly.
  7. Repeat the layers, finishing with a layer of the mascarpone mixture on top.
  8. Cover and refrigerate for at least 4 hours, or overnight for best results.
  9. Before serving, dust the top with cocoa powder for a finishing touch.
