- all-purpose flour - 150 grams
- water - 70 ml
- sunflower oil - 2 tablespoons
- apples (Granny Smith or similar) - 2 medium, peeled and sliced
- brown sugar - 50 grams
- cinnamon - 1 teaspoon
- lemon juice - 1 tablespoon
- raisins - 30 grams
- walnuts (chopped) - 30 grams
- plant-based milk (for brushing) - 2 tablespoons
Steps
- In a mixing bowl, combine the flour, water, and sunflower oil to form a dough. Knead for about 5 minutes until smooth, then cover and let it rest for 30 minutes.
- Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F).
- In a separate bowl, mix the sliced apples with brown sugar, cinnamon, lemon juice, raisins, and chopped walnuts until well combined.
- Roll out the dough on a floured surface into a thin rectangle, about 30x40 cm (12x16 inches).
- Spread the apple filling evenly along one edge of the dough, then carefully roll the dough over the filling to form a log.
- Place the strudel seam-side down on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Brush the top with plant-based milk.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until golden brown and crisp.
- Allow to cool slightly before slicing and serving.
