- Cooked chestnuts - 200 grams
- Milk - 200 ml
- Heavy cream - 100 ml
- Sugar - 50 grams
- Eggs - 2 large
- Vanilla extract - 1 teaspoon
- Salt - a pinch
- Butter - for greasing
Steps
- Preheat your oven to 180°C (350°F) and prepare a small baking dish by greasing it with butter.
- In a medium saucepan, combine the cooked chestnuts, milk, heavy cream, and sugar. Heat over medium heat until warm, stirring until the sugar dissolves.
- Remove the saucepan from heat and let the mixture cool slightly. Then, use a blender or food processor to puree the mixture until smooth.
- In a bowl, whisk together the eggs, vanilla extract, and salt. Gradually add the chestnut puree to the egg mixture, stirring until well combined.
- Pour the mixture into the prepared baking dish and place it in a larger baking pan filled with hot water (bain-marie).
- Bake in the preheated oven for about 40-45 minutes, or until the center is set and a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
- Remove from the oven and let it cool to room temperature before refrigerating for at least 1 hour.
- Serve chilled, optionally garnished with whipped cream or a sprinkle of cocoa powder.
