Ingredients

  • Halal Italian sausage - 200 grams
  • Broccoli rabe (friarielli) - 150 grams
  • Garlic - 2 cloves, minced
  • Olive oil - 1 tablespoon
  • Salt - to taste
  • Black pepper - to taste
  • Burger buns - 2
  • Provolone cheese - 2 slices
  • Red pepper flakes - 1/2 teaspoon (optional)
  • Balsamic vinegar - 1 teaspoon

Steps

  1. In a skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat and add minced garlic. Sauté for about 1 minute until fragrant.
  2. Add the broccoli rabe to the skillet and season with salt, pepper, and red pepper flakes. Cook for about 5-7 minutes until wilted and tender. Drizzle with balsamic vinegar, remove from heat, and set aside.
  3. Meanwhile, in another skillet or grill, cook the Halal Italian sausages over medium heat for about 8-10 minutes, turning occasionally, until fully cooked and browned.
  4. During the last minute of cooking the sausages, place a slice of provolone cheese on top of each sausage to melt.
  5. Toast the burger buns lightly on a separate pan or under a broiler until golden.
  6. Assemble the burgers by placing the cooked sausage with melted cheese on the bottom bun, topping it generously with the sautéed broccoli rabe, and then closing with the top bun.
  7. Serve immediately and enjoy your Salsiccia e Friarielli Burgers.
