- Broccoli rabe (friarielli) - 200 grams
- Garlic - 3 cloves, minced
- Olive oil - 2 tablespoons
- Red pepper flakes - 1/2 teaspoon
- Salt - to taste
- Black pepper - to taste
- Lemon - 1, juiced
Steps
- In a large skillet, heat 1 tablespoon of olive oil over medium heat. Add the sausage and cook until browned and cooked through, about 8-10 minutes, breaking it apart with a wooden spoon.
- Remove the cooked sausage from the skillet and set aside, leaving the rendered fat in the pan.
- In the same skillet, add another tablespoon of olive oil. Add the minced garlic and red pepper flakes, sautéing for about 1 minute until the garlic is fragrant.
- Add the broccoli rabe to the skillet, stirring to coat it with the garlic oil. Cook for about 5 minutes until the broccoli rabe is tender but still vibrant green.
- Return the cooked sausage to the skillet with the broccoli rabe. Season with salt and black pepper to taste, and stir well to combine. Cook for an additional 2-3 minutes to heat through.
- Remove from heat, drizzle with lemon juice, and serve hot.
