Ingredients

  • Salmon fillets - 2 (approximately 150g each)
  • Salt - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Black pepper - 1/4 teaspoon
  • Olive oil - 2 tablespoons
  • Butter - 50g
  • Garlic - 2 cloves, minced
  • Fresh lemon juice - 2 tablespoons
  • Lemon zest - 1 teaspoon
  • Fresh parsley - 2 tablespoons, chopped

Steps

  1. Pat the salmon fillets dry with paper towels and season both sides with salt and black pepper.
  2. In a large skillet, heat 2 tablespoons of olive oil over medium-high heat.
  3. Once the oil is hot, place the salmon fillets skin-side down in the skillet and cook for about 4-5 minutes until the skin is crispy.
  4. Gently flip the salmon fillets and cook for an additional 3-4 minutes, or until the salmon is cooked through and flakes easily with a fork.
  5. Remove the salmon from the skillet and set aside on a plate, keeping it warm.
  6. In the same skillet, reduce the heat to medium and add 50g of butter, allowing it to melt.
  7. Add the minced garlic to the melted butter and sauté for about 1 minute until fragrant, being careful not to burn it.
  8. Stir in the fresh lemon juice and lemon zest, mixing well to combine, and let it simmer for about 1 minute.
  9. Remove the skillet from heat and stir in the chopped parsley.
  10. Pour the lemon butter sauce over the cooked salmon fillets and serve immediately.
