Ingredients

  • Ground turkey - 300 grams
  • Whole wheat breadcrumbs - 50 grams
  • Grated Parmesan cheese - 30 grams
  • Fresh parsley - 2 tablespoons, chopped
  • Garlic - 1 clove, minced
  • Egg - 1 large
  • Salt - 1 teaspoon
  • Black pepper - 1/2 teaspoon
  • Olive oil - 1 tablespoon
  • Canned crushed tomatoes - 200 grams
  • Italian seasoning - 1 teaspoon

Steps

  1. Preheat the oven to 200°C (400°F).
  2. In a large bowl, combine the ground turkey, whole wheat breadcrumbs, grated Parmesan, chopped parsley, minced garlic, egg, salt, and black pepper. Mix until well combined.
  3. Form the mixture into 8 equal-sized meatballs and place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  4. Drizzle the meatballs with olive oil and bake in the preheated oven for 20 minutes or until they are cooked through and golden brown.
  5. While the meatballs are baking, prepare the sauce by heating the crushed tomatoes in a saucepan over medium heat. Stir in the Italian seasoning and simmer for 5-10 minutes.
  6. Once the meatballs are done, serve them hot with the tomato sauce drizzled on top.
