Ingredients

  • Polenta - 150g
  • Water - 600ml
  • Italian sausage (preferably spicy) - 200g
  • Olive oil - 1 tablespoon
  • Garlic - 2 cloves, minced
  • Parmesan cheese - 30g, grated
  • Salt - 1 teaspoon
  • Black pepper - to taste
  • Fresh parsley - for garnish

Steps

  1. In a medium saucepan, bring 600ml of water to a boil. Add 1 teaspoon of salt.
  2. Gradually whisk in 150g of polenta, reducing the heat to low. Stir continuously for about 15 minutes until the polenta thickens and becomes creamy.
  3. While the polenta is cooking, heat 1 tablespoon of olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Add 200g of Italian sausage, breaking it into pieces with a spatula, and cook until browned and cooked through, about 7-10 minutes.
  4. Add 2 minced garlic cloves to the skillet with the sausage and cook for an additional 1-2 minutes until fragrant.
  5. Once the polenta is done, stir in 30g of grated Parmesan cheese and season with black pepper to taste.
  6. To serve, spoon the creamy polenta onto plates and top with the sausage mixture. Garnish with fresh parsley.
