Ingredients
- All-purpose flour - 250 grams
- Warm water - 150 ml
- Active dry yeast - 7 grams
- Olive oil - 2 tablespoons
- Salt - 1 teaspoon
- Tomato sauce - 100 grams
- Zucchini - 100 grams, thinly sliced
- Red bell pepper - 50 grams, sliced
- Red onion - 50 grams, thinly sliced
- Black olives - 30 grams, pitted and sliced
- Dried oregano - 1 teaspoon
- Fresh basil leaves - 10 grams, for garnish
Steps
- In a small bowl, combine warm water and active dry yeast. Let it sit for about 5 minutes until frothy.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine all-purpose flour and salt. Make a well in the center and add the yeast mixture and olive oil.
- Mix until the dough starts to come together, then knead on a floured surface for about 10 minutes until smooth and elastic.
- Place the dough in a lightly oiled bowl, cover with a damp cloth, and let it rise in a warm place for about 30 minutes or until doubled in size.
- Preheat your oven to 250°C (482°F) and place a pizza stone or baking sheet inside to heat.
- Once the dough has risen, punch it down and roll it out on a floured surface to approximately 30 cm in diameter.
- Transfer the rolled dough to a piece of parchment paper for easy handling.
- Spread the tomato sauce evenly over the base, leaving a small border around the edges.
- Arrange the sliced zucchini, red bell pepper, red onion, and black olives on top of the sauce.
- Sprinkle dried oregano over the vegetables and drizzle a little olive oil if desired.
- Carefully slide the pizza (with the parchment paper) onto the preheated pizza stone or baking sheet.
- Bake for 10-12 minutes or until the crust is golden and crispy.
- Remove from the oven, garnish with fresh basil leaves, slice, and serve hot.
