- Tomato sauce - 100 grams
- Mozzarella cheese - 150 grams
- Prosciutto crudo - 100 grams
- Fresh arugula - 30 grams
- Fresh basil leaves - a handful
- Black pepper - to taste
- Parmesan cheese - for garnish (optional)
Steps
- In a small bowl, mix the warm water with the active dry yeast and let it sit for about 5 minutes until frothy.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the all-purpose flour and salt. Make a well in the center and add the yeast mixture and olive oil.
- Mix the ingredients until a dough forms. Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 8-10 minutes until smooth and elastic.
- Place the dough in a lightly oiled bowl, cover it with a damp cloth, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour, or until it doubles in size.
- Preheat your oven to 250°C (482°F). If using a pizza stone, place it in the oven to heat up.
- Once the dough has risen, punch it down and divide it into two equal portions. Roll out each portion into a 25 cm (10 inch) circle on a floured surface.
- Transfer the rolled-out dough onto a baking sheet or a pizza peel if using a pizza stone. Spread 50 grams of tomato sauce on each pizza base, leaving a small border around the edges.
- Evenly distribute the mozzarella cheese over the sauce on both pizzas.
- Bake in the preheated oven for about 10-12 minutes, or until the crust is golden and the cheese is bubbly.
- Remove the pizzas from the oven and immediately top each with 50 grams of prosciutto crudo, a handful of fresh arugula, and basil leaves. Add black pepper to taste.
- If desired, sprinkle with grated Parmesan cheese before serving.
