Ingredients

  • All-purpose flour - 250 grams
  • Warm water - 150 ml
  • Active dry yeast - 5 grams
  • Olive oil - 15 ml
  • Salt - 5 grams
  • Tomato sauce - 100 grams
  • Mozzarella cheese - 150 grams
  • Prosciutto crudo - 100 grams
  • Fresh arugula - 30 grams
  • Fresh basil leaves - a handful
  • Black pepper - to taste
  • Parmesan cheese - for garnish (optional)

Steps

  1. In a small bowl, mix the warm water with the active dry yeast and let it sit for about 5 minutes until frothy.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine the all-purpose flour and salt. Make a well in the center and add the yeast mixture and olive oil.
  3. Mix the ingredients until a dough forms. Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 8-10 minutes until smooth and elastic.
  4. Place the dough in a lightly oiled bowl, cover it with a damp cloth, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour, or until it doubles in size.
  5. Preheat your oven to 250°C (482°F). If using a pizza stone, place it in the oven to heat up.
  6. Once the dough has risen, punch it down and divide it into two equal portions. Roll out each portion into a 25 cm (10 inch) circle on a floured surface.
  7. Transfer the rolled-out dough onto a baking sheet or a pizza peel if using a pizza stone. Spread 50 grams of tomato sauce on each pizza base, leaving a small border around the edges.
  8. Evenly distribute the mozzarella cheese over the sauce on both pizzas.
  9. Bake in the preheated oven for about 10-12 minutes, or until the crust is golden and the cheese is bubbly.
  10. Remove the pizzas from the oven and immediately top each with 50 grams of prosciutto crudo, a handful of fresh arugula, and basil leaves. Add black pepper to taste.
  11. If desired, sprinkle with grated Parmesan cheese before serving.
