- Green olives - 50 grams, pitted and sliced
- Fresh basil leaves - 10 grams
- Dried oregano - 1 teaspoon
- Nutritional yeast - 2 tablespoons (optional for cheesy flavor)
Steps
- In a small bowl, mix warm water, sugar, and active dry yeast. Let it sit for about 5 minutes until it becomes frothy.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine all-purpose flour and salt. Make a well in the center and add the yeast mixture and olive oil.
- Mix until a dough forms, then knead on a floured surface for about 5-7 minutes until smooth.
- Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover with a cloth, and let it rise in a warm place for about 15-20 minutes or until doubled in size.
- Preheat the oven to 220°C (428°F).
- Once the dough has risen, punch it down and roll it out on a floured surface to your desired thickness.
- Transfer the rolled dough to a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
- Spread the tomato sauce evenly over the base, leaving a small border around the edges.
- Sprinkle sliced black and green olives over the sauce, followed by dried oregano and nutritional yeast if using.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 10-12 minutes until the crust is golden brown.
- Remove from the oven and top with fresh basil leaves before slicing and serving.
