  • Tomato sauce - 100 grams
  • Black olives - 50 grams, pitted and sliced
  • Green olives - 50 grams, pitted and sliced
  • Fresh basil leaves - 10 grams
  • Dried oregano - 1 teaspoon
  • Nutritional yeast - 2 tablespoons (optional for cheesy flavor)

Steps

  1. In a small bowl, mix warm water, sugar, and active dry yeast. Let it sit for about 5 minutes until it becomes frothy.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine all-purpose flour and salt. Make a well in the center and add the yeast mixture and olive oil.
  3. Mix until a dough forms, then knead on a floured surface for about 5-7 minutes until smooth.
  4. Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover with a cloth, and let it rise in a warm place for about 15-20 minutes or until doubled in size.
  5. Preheat the oven to 220°C (428°F).
  6. Once the dough has risen, punch it down and roll it out on a floured surface to your desired thickness.
  7. Transfer the rolled dough to a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  8. Spread the tomato sauce evenly over the base, leaving a small border around the edges.
  9. Sprinkle sliced black and green olives over the sauce, followed by dried oregano and nutritional yeast if using.
  10. Bake in the preheated oven for 10-12 minutes until the crust is golden brown.
  11. Remove from the oven and top with fresh basil leaves before slicing and serving.
