- Cherry tomatoes (halved) - 150 grams
- Fresh basil (chopped) - 10 grams
- Salt - to taste
- Black pepper - to taste
- Water - 2 liters
Steps
- Bring 2 liters of salted water to a boil in a large pot.
- Add the pasta and cook according to package instructions until al dente, usually about 8-10 minutes.
- While the pasta cooks, heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
- Remove the sausage from its casing and crumble it into the skillet, cooking until browned and fully cooked, about 5-7 minutes.
- Add the minced garlic and red chili flakes to the skillet, sautéing for an additional minute until fragrant.
- Stir in the halved cherry tomatoes, cooking for another 3-4 minutes until they begin to soften.
- Once the pasta is cooked, reserve 1/2 cup of the pasta water and then drain the pasta.
- Add the cooked pasta to the skillet with the sausage and tomatoes, tossing to combine.
- If the mixture seems dry, add reserved pasta water a little at a time until you reach your desired consistency.
- Season with salt, black pepper, and chopped basil before serving.
