  • Red pepper flakes - 1/4 teaspoon (optional)
  • Vegetable broth - 100 milliliters

Steps

  1. Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the pasta and cook according to package instructions until al dente, usually about 8-10 minutes.
  2. While the pasta is cooking, heat the olive oil in a pan over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and sauté for 1-2 minutes until fragrant but not browned.
  3. Add the rinsed chickpeas and diced tomatoes to the pan. Stir well and cook for about 5 minutes, allowing the flavors to meld.

  6. Season the sauce with salt, black pepper, and red pepper flakes if using. Stir in the chopped fresh basil.
