- Heavy cream - 100 milliliters
- Lemon juice - 1 tablespoon
- Fresh dill - 2 tablespoons, chopped
- Salt - to taste
- Black pepper - to taste
- Parmesan cheese - 30 grams, grated (optional for garnish)
Steps
- Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil and cook the fettuccine according to package instructions until al dente.
- While the pasta is cooking, heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
- Add the minced garlic to the skillet and sauté for 1-2 minutes until fragrant, being careful not to burn it.
- Pour in the heavy cream and lemon juice, stirring to combine, and let it simmer for about 3-4 minutes until slightly thickened.
- Once the pasta is done, reserve 1/4 cup of pasta water, then drain the pasta.
- Add the cooked fettuccine to the skillet with the cream sauce, tossing to coat the pasta evenly.
- If the sauce is too thick, add a bit of reserved pasta water until desired consistency is reached.
- Fold in the smoked salmon and chopped dill, and season with salt and black pepper to taste.
- Serve immediately, garnished with grated Parmesan cheese if desired.
