- Cherry tomatoes - 300 grams, halved
- Fresh basil - 10 grams, chopped
- Salt - to taste
- Black pepper - to taste
- Parmesan cheese (optional) - 20 grams, grated
Steps
- Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil and cook the pasta according to package instructions until al dente.
- While the pasta is cooking, heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
- Add the sliced red onion and sauté for about 5 minutes until it becomes translucent.
- Stir in the minced garlic and cook for another minute until fragrant.
- Add the halved cherry tomatoes to the skillet, season with salt and black pepper, and cook for 10-12 minutes until the tomatoes soften and release their juices.
- Once the pasta is cooked, reserve about 1/2 cup of the pasta water, then drain the pasta.
- Add the drained pasta to the skillet with the tomato and onion mixture, tossing to combine.
- If the pasta seems dry, add a little reserved pasta water to achieve the desired consistency.
