  • Pasta (spaghetti or linguine) - 160 grams
  • Green beans - 200 grams, trimmed
  • Garlic - 3 cloves, minced
  • Olive oil - 3 tablespoons
  • Cherry tomatoes - 150 grams, halved
  • Salt - to taste
  • Black pepper - to taste
  • Fresh basil - a handful, torn
  • Lemon juice - 1 tablespoon

Steps

  1. Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil and cook the pasta according to package instructions until al dente.
  2. In the last 4 minutes of cooking the pasta, add the trimmed green beans to the pot.
  3. While the pasta and beans are cooking, heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
  4. Add the minced garlic to the skillet and sauté for about 1 minute, or until fragrant, being careful not to burn it.
  5. Add the halved cherry tomatoes to the skillet and cook for an additional 3-4 minutes until they soften.
  6. Once the pasta and beans are cooked, drain them and add to the skillet with the garlic and tomatoes.
  7. Toss everything together, seasoning with salt, black pepper, and lemon juice to taste.
  8. Remove from heat and stir in the torn fresh basil just before serving.
