- Vegetable broth - 200 ml

- Fresh parsley - 2 tablespoons, chopped

Steps
- Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil and cook the pasta according to package instructions until al dente. Reserve 100 ml of pasta water before draining.
- While the pasta is cooking, heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
- Add the sliced onions to the skillet and sauté for about 15-20 minutes, stirring occasionally, until they are caramelized and golden brown.
- Add the minced garlic to the skillet and sauté for an additional 1-2 minutes until fragrant.
- Pour in the vegetable broth and bring to a simmer. If needed, add reserved pasta water to reach desired sauce consistency.
- Season the onion mixture with salt, black pepper, and red pepper flakes (if using).
- Add the drained pasta to the skillet, tossing well to combine with the onion sauce.
- Serve hot, garnished with chopped fresh parsley.
